Moss-Stitch Soup Bowl Cozy
NOW INCLUDES A BRIEF VIDEO TUTORIAL for starting the bowl cozy, or to make a matching coaster!
Pattern is worked with one strands. 2 finished cozies in the Lily Sugar’n Cream weigh 70 grams.
Different brands of yarn, and even different colors within the same brand, have differing weights and yardage requirements.
The “super size” of Lily Sugar’n Cream has 85 to 113 grams per ball, so easily 2 can be made with one ball of that.
The regular size ball solid colors of this same brand weigh 70.9 grams so there is “just” enough to make 2 if you are careful.
The regular size ball multi-colors of that brand however are only 2 ounces.
If you only have one 2-ounce ball of your main color, you can make the first few rounds (which becomes the bottom) in a coordinating color you have leftover from another project.
The cones weigh in at 400 grams, so you would get quite a number out of that, but they of course would all be the same color.
It’s actually a great stash-buster project too, as long as it’s the same kind of yarn, just change colors whenever you want in the middle of the pattern and keep going in the next color!
