Wrap yourself in nature’s charm with Mossblossom—a playful, easy-going shawl that blends easy lace with soft texture. Knit with two skeins of La Bien Aimée Merino Singles in your favorite colorway, this shawl is all about a rhythmic knitting experience and gorgeous drape. The rectangular shape, accented by bobbles and gently scalloped lace edges, transforms into a cozy, stylish wrap with just a tiny seam. See our video below! Whether you’re enjoying a relaxing evening or stepping out for a stroll, Mossblossom adds a touch of organic beauty to your outfit.

Design Details

Mossblossom is designed for those who love a relaxed knitting experience with a splash of engaging texture. The lace panels flow effortlessly, framed by garter stitch and highlighted with charming bobbles that pop against the smooth single-ply merino. It’s a versatile accessory that’s both fun to knit and endlessly wearable. The straightforward chart is easy to memorize, making it a perfect project for settling into the gentle rhythm of each row.

Construction

Mossblossom’s clever “faux” triangle shape is achieved by knitting a flat rectangle. After blocking, a small 2-inch seam at the corner allows you to slip it on like an infinity scarf, giving the shawl its signature drape. See the schematic here. The stitch count remains low, keeping the project approachable while still allowing the fabric’s dynamic elements to shine. The garter stitch and lacework create a flexible fabric that sits beautifully around the shoulders.

Yarn Selection

The shawl is worked in La Bien Aimée Merino Singles—a buttery soft single-ply yarn that enhances the texture and drape of the lace. The semi-solid tones of Yellow Brick Road Graffiti add depth and character to the fabric, letting each detail stand out while creating a rich, cohesive look. You can experiment with other hand-dyed fingering weight yarns for a completely unique take on Mossblossom.
