Construction

Mossblossom’s clever “faux” triangle shape is achieved by knitting a flat rectangle. After blocking, a small 2-inch seam at the corner allows you to slip it on like an infinity scarf, giving the shawl its signature drape. See the schematic here. The stitch count remains low, keeping the project approachable while still allowing the fabric’s dynamic elements to shine. The garter stitch and lacework create a flexible fabric that sits beautifully around the shoulders.

Yarn Selection

The shawl is worked in La Bien Aimée Merino Singles—a buttery soft single-ply yarn that enhances the texture and drape of the lace. • Yardage Required: 2 Skeins Approximately 800 yards (732m)
• Recommended Yarn: Semi-solid or tonal colorways
• Needles: US 5 (3.75mm) 24” circular needles
• Gauge: Not necessary to swatch; the fabric’s drape is more important than precise measurements
• Finished Measurements: 18” deep - 46cm - 50” wide (25” folded in half) - 127cm (63.5cm folded in half) This scarf is easily modified by adding more or less chart repeats. Note this will change yarn usage.
