Mossy Trail Socks
If you would like to be the first to hear about new pattern releases, get special subscriber only discounts, and generally keep in touch with Knitwise Design, you may want to sign up for my newsletter: News and Notes from Knitwise Design.
These socks were inspired by the many mossy trails in the woods by my home in Maine. They feature easy to knit moss stitch for the cuffs, with trails of moss stitch that intersect in a diamond pattern down the legs and instep. Eye of Partridge stitch is used for the heel flaps to continue the textural, mossy look. This is a light texture, solid color sock that is a great addition to your knitted sock wardrobe. You can work the trail pattern from a chart or written out directions as you prefer.
This pattern is appropriate for intermediate knitters familiar with knitting socks. The socks are worked in the round, on dpns, from the cuff down, though if you are adept at magic loop you will find it easy to adapt to that technique as well. The pattern is four pages long and includes both charts and written directions for those charts. Pattern has been test knit and professionally tech edited to be clear and free of errors.
