Mossyrock Shawl
This triangular shawl uses a simple stitch pattern – the half double crochet variation of the crochet moss stitch – and a self-striping yarn to make colorwork easy. A puff stitch border adds a decorative finishing touch.

Crocheting flat in rows (for main body of shawl and border) and crocheting the round (for edging), increasing

Approximately 42” (106.5 cm) wingspan x 24.5” (62 cm) spine before blocking.
Materials
King Cole Curiosity DK yarn (100% acrylic, 5.3 oz/150 g, 524 yd/480 m) – 2 skeins in 2904 Mother of Pearl, or approximately 620 yd (567 m) in any light weight yarn.
Curiosity DK is available at your local yarn shop or online at Deramores or Wool Warehouse.
Nelsonwood Alder Cone US Size I-9/5.5 mm crochet hook, or any size needed to obtain gauge.
Locking stitch markers (optional).
Yarn needle.
Gauge
19 sts (including hdc + ch-1 sp) in pattern = 4” (10 cm). Exact gauge is not critical for this project.
