Here is a lovely Autumn Cowl and Hat set for mother and daughter.

In scrummy Autumn colours, from green, grey, and beige to a lovely bright burnt orange, picked up from the colours of nature, this hat is gorgeous for both mum and daughter to wear together.

The pattern is very easy to make and works up very quickly. Using simple single crochet and double crochet, with a ladder and fan stitch detail, it works into a very pretty garment.

The hat can be work with edge down, to create a fan-shape around the face, or with brim up, as a regular beanie.

You will need:

1-2 skeins worsted weight (aran/10ply) yarn in each of four colours; yarn needle.

Suggested colours are given in the pattern itself.

I found the nicest yarn for these items was Vanna’s Choice.
