Pattern description from Knitting in America: “Julie’s Harvest Fruit Pullovers evoke the feeling of autumnal bounty. Crabapples and ornamental cherries, which Julie sees each October in her backyard in Wheeling, West Virginia, are arranged along with pears and plums within a grid of four different cables and basketweave squares. To achieve a sense of light and shade as well as texture and delicate coloration within the fruit, Julie chose a combination of wool, silk, and cotton chenille yarns from Rowan. For the basket-like background, she opted for Rowan’s DK Tweed. The initial inspiration for these pullovers came from a photograph of fruit on the cover of a mail-order catalog. The pattern for these mother-daughter sweaters appears on page 177.”
