Moths bonnet
Moth bonnet is a thorough tutorial provided as text + links to videos of the techniques used. Difficulty level - lower intermediate as embroidery is required after knitting.
The following variations of the bonnet are included in the pattern:
- Round top with no lining
- “Gnome top with no lining.
- Round top with a lining (inner layer for colder weather).
- “Gnome top with a lining (inner layer for colder weather).
- 6 variations of embroidery with downloadable sketches and videos.
You will need:
Yarn: Air Drops (150m/50g) 1 (1,1,1,1,1) ball or Lana Gatto Super Soft (125m/50g) 1 (1,1,1,2,2) balls or any other with similar characteristics.
+ 1 extra ball of your yarn if you choose variation with a lining.
Needles: 4.0 mm US 6 on a 60 cm cable 24”; 3.0 mm US2½- on a 60 cm cable 24” or any to obtain gauge.
Additional notions: measuring tape, scissors, stitch markers, tapestry needle.
For embroidery:
• Thread for embroidery: depending on the chosen sketch in matching colorways
• Small beads (optional, if you want to add to the wings)
• Embroidery needle
• non-woven fabric to use on the wrong side (fusible webbing/Vlieseline)
• Scissors
• Markers to place bees (if you choose Bees sketch)
