This crochet pattern is for a square motif crochet cushion that can be used on a chair or on the floor as a meditation cushion.

The stitches used are chain, half double crochet and double crochet. You will also need to be familiar with seaming crocheted squares together as the squares are stitched together to make the front and back of the cushion. The crochet hook size is a US J.

The other supplies needed are: an 18 inch zipper, sewing machine, sewing thread, 18 inch by 18 inch by 2 inch deep foam cushion, 3/4 yard muslin fabric to cover foam - if desired.

Some optional sewing is involved with this pattern so you will need to know basic sewing skills using a sewing machine and be familiar with sewing a zipper in. An option is given in the pattern to skip that part if you do not wish to make your cushion removable for washing - you can just sew the seam closed. There are also sewing directions given to cover your foam cushion with muslin fabric if desired - again this is optional if you are familiar with sewing and want to cover the foam.
