Looking for inspiration in my stash one day, I happened upon two beautiful skeins of yarn that were side by side and appeared to be a match made in stash heaven. The Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky, in Royal Purple, is soft as a dream, and the deep purple accents the layers of color in the Malabrigo Mecha, in Lotus, like they were destined to be knit together.

This warm and cozy cowl knits up quickly on US size 10 needles (6.0 mm), and will take 1 1/4 skeins of Cascade and about 3/4 skein of Malabrigo. Look for my matching fingerless mitts pattern, Martha’s Mosaic Mitts, to use up the leftover yarn from this project!

Other lovely yarns to consider would be Kraemer Perfection Chunky and Madelinetosh Tosh Chunky.
