Mount Rainier Cowl
This cowl is designed for and with my husband, who like me is in love with the lonely mountain on our Seattle vista. Mount Rainier is the central motif, surrounded by geometric pine trees along each border. The vertical lines add a masculine feel, while representing the signature Seattle Rain. The interior pattern allows for a reversible cowl with double thickness for warmth.
The Mount Rainier Cowl is a stranded colorwork pattern that is knit in the round using circular needles. A provisional cast on and Kitchener stitch bind off provide a double thick, revisable finish. Knit with DK weight yarn for a cozy yet soft drape, this cowl is a warm addition to your winter wardrobe.

This design lends itself to adapting the usages of charts to change the look of the finished object. Each chart is a multiple of 32 stitch repeat, so that the knitter can be encouraged to mix and match. Check out the photos and posted projects for a few options to inspire you, however, feel free to “knit outside the box!”
