These charming, customizable stockings are inspired by a cozy rustic home nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia. Whether hung over the fireplace or along a banister strung with lights and garland, they are sure to add the perfect festive touch to your holiday décor.

The Mountain Cabin Christmas Stockings pattern is worked from the cuff down and features stranded colorwork, a flap heel, and an i-cord loop for hanging up your finished stocking. The pattern instructions are written for DPNs, but magic loop or a 16” circular may be used along with appropriately placed stitch markers. Gauge is not important as this is not a garment, but the suggested yarns and needle size will produce a sturdy fabric and the approximate size depicted on the schematic.

This pattern uses four colors and one skein of each color will be needed.

Techniques needed for this pattern:

  • colorwork/ carrying floats
  • i-cord knitting
  • kitchener stitch/ grafting
  • knitting in the round
  • decreasing SSK, k2tog, p2tog
  • picking up stitches
