Mountain Day Shawl
This shawl is knit from a center garter tab out to the bottom chevron border, switching colours according to your version. Each row begins and ends with a 2 stitch garter edge and increases by 2 stitches.
Size: 63” wide, 18” deep at center
Yarn: MC: 100g/437* yds fingering weight yarn
CC: 50g/200 yds fingering weight yarn
Yarn used in picture: MC: My Mama Knits Sock Yarn “The Trial”
CC: My Mama Knits Sock Yarn “Smurf Bum”
Because of the ‘chose your own adventure’ nature of this pattern, you will use ALL of this yardage. If you have less than 437yrds MC, you should opt for the striped version. You still may find you have to start the striping in the last garter stitch section.
Needle: US #5 with 32” cord or longer, tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Other: 27 stitch markers
Gauge: 19 sts x 39 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch, blocked
While gauge isn’t crucial to the shawl, it will help you determine how far your MC will go and help you decide which version of the shawl to make
