I developed this pattern as a custom gift for a friend having a baby. Blanket uses several colors to create the image of a magical castle in front of a frosty mountain backdrop. Outline on the castle and mountain edges is optional and is added after the body of the blanket is crocheted (follow guide to surface crochet included in pattern). You will notice in the photo that some of the mountains have an ombré effect - I used miscellaneous scraps of yarn for some bits just to use up scraps. You can use any DK weight yarn similar in gauge to your green and sky colors (mine are Bernat Softee Baby). Happy crocheting!
