Mountain laurels (a shrub or small tree) have a wonderfully fragrant purple flowers in the spring that fills the air with scent. The diamond pattern of the Mountain Laurel Scarf reminds me of the clusters of Mountain laurel flowers. The scarf is a bold statement with lacy diamonds set in a bold garter stitch background. This design can be used for either men or women.

Gauge is not important with the scarf, using size 8/5.0 needles, the scarf should be about 9 inches in width when blocked. The pattern is bold enough that blocking is not required but it does open the pattern up beautifully and is suggested. Use a designer DK yarn and create a one of a kind scarf for that special someone in your life or even for yourself.

The scarf in the pattern used 2.5 balls of Louisa Harding Grace Silk & Wool yarn and is 9 inches wide and 64 inches long blocked. The model is CJ Bunny who is wonderfully patient with the photographer.
