Construction:
These Mountain Rill Socks are knitted from the top down with a Gerdina Crouford-Strong heel and a gusset construction (without picking up sts) and a wedge shaped toe.
Here are two options of the foot, stockinette or reverse sts, each with its own toe.
The pattern is written for the magic loop method but it can be easily adapted to DPN’s
Difficulty: intermediate.
SIZE: WOMAN M (to approx. fit EU shoe sizes 38-39).
Foot circumference, cm/inch – 20 / 8
Heel to guff length, cm/inch - 15 / 6
Foot length (cm) – adjustable.
MATERIALS:
YARN: OPAL Sunrise, Gruendl Hot Socks (75% wool, 25% polyamide, 420 m – 100 g, 1 skein or other sock yarn (Schachenmayer Regia, Austermann)
NEEDLES: US 1.5 / 2.5 mm at least 32” / 80 cm long circular needles or size to obtain gauge for magic loop method or DPNs if preferred.
NOTIONS: stitch markers, tape measure, sock blockers (optional), cable needle, tapestry needle.
GAUGE: 30 sts x 42 rnds to 4” / 10 cm in stockinette stitch, knitted in the rnd, after blocking.
