This poncho is made of 4 symmetrical triangles with a subtle purl/knit design that creates the allusion of mountains. It is very easy to knit the poncho as stockinette without knitting the purl/knit mountain design.

The design begins with a Provisional Cast On to knit the neck ribbing. The pattern includes alternate instructions for those that do not want to use a Provisional Cast On. From the neck ribbing the poncho is worked top down and ends with a three inch wide ribbing at the bottom.

If you don’t like charts the design can be knit totally without using the charts.

Measurements After Blocking
Triangle Spines from the neck ribbing / 19 inches
Bottom Edge of each triangle, from spine to spine = 36”
Measurements vary depending how much you stretch as you block.

Materials:
• Worsted Weight Yarn: 900 - 950 yards
• Stitch markers
• Darning needle

Needles Used:
• US 7 (4.5mm) circular minimum length 24” (60cm) - neck ribbing
• US 8 (5mm) circular minimum length 32” (80cm) - poncho body

Gauge:
• 2 inches = Approximately 9 stitches and 12 rows
Producing the desired fabric is more important than obtaining
an exact gauge. Adjust yardage accordingly.
