Any yarn can be used. The weight of the yarn will determine how small or large the mouse comes out.

Other materials needed:

Needle size appropriate to obtain a tight gauge. Try one size smaller than the size recommended on the yarn packaging.

Crochet hook same size as knitting needles.

Tapestry needle.

2-4 cotton balls or fiber fill.

Loose leaf catnip.

Gauge: not important for sizing, but should be tight enough to prevent filling from coming out through the stitches.
