Mouse on the Tree
Preparing for Christmas can feel sometimes overwhelming, but the members of this mouse family will happily volunteer if you need help trimming the tree.
Their small size is an advantage rather than a problem: they can climb to the smallest, highest branches to place their favorite ornaments, like candy canes.
Each pattern in the Christmas Mice collection has a cute mouse wearing a festive accessory, and a Christmas ornament that can be used to decorate the tree on its own as well as together with the mouse.
Size
The mouse is about 16cm (6 ½”) long from nose to the tip of its tail, and the candy cane is about 14cm (5 ½”) long.
Tools and materials:
~ DK yarn in coat color (beige), pink, green, red, and white
~ 2.75mm/C hook
~ 6mm black plastic safety eyes
~ fiberfill stuffing
~ white thread and sewing needle
~ stitch markers, pair of scissors, pins, yarn needle
~ optional: wire cutter, baker’s twine, clear fishing line or transparent double sided adhesive tape
Difficulty
This pattern is suitable for intermediate level crocheters, who are confident with basic stitches (ch, sl st, sc, hdc, dc) and frequently used amigurumi techniques (invisible decrease, magic loop, working in BLO).
The pattern is written in English using US crochet terminology (UK/Aus equivalents provided). It contains many in-progress photos to help you crochet the mouse, but also includes a text-only appendix for easy printing, if you prefer working from a printed pattern but want to save ink and paper.
Finished amigurumi made from this pattern are yours to keep or gift or sell, I only ask you to credit me as the designer in case you decide to sell them.
