Mouse with Popcorn
Preparing for Christmas can feel sometimes overwhelming, but the members of this mouse family will happily volunteer if you need help trimming the tree.
Popcorn garlands radiate old-fashioned Christmas charm - well worth the effort it takes to make them anew every year, according to this little mouse.
Each pattern in the Christmas Mice collection has a cute mouse wearing a festive accessory, and a Christmas ornament that can be used to decorate the tree on its own as well as together with the mouse.
Size
Sitting, the mouse is about 8.5cm (3 ¼”) tall to the top of the ears, and the bowl’s diameter is about 9cm (3 ½”).
Tools and materials:
~ DK yarn in coat color (pale silver), pink, green, red, light red, white, and cream
~ 2.75mm/C hook
~ 6mm black plastic safety eyes
~ plastic yarn needle, 7cm / 2 ¾” long
~ fiberfill stuffing
~ stitch markers, pair of scissors, pins, yarn needle
~ optional: wire cutter, small round red beads, glue
Difficulty
This pattern is suitable for intermediate level crocheters, who are confident with basic stitches (ch, sl st, sc, dc) and frequently used amigurumi techniques (invisible decrease, magic loop, working in FLO/BLO).
The pattern is written in English using US crochet terminology (UK/Aus equivalents provided). It contains many in-progress photos to help you crochet the mouse, but also includes a text-only appendix for easy printing, if you prefer working from a printed pattern but want to save ink and paper.
Finished amigurumi made from this pattern are yours to keep or gift or sell, I only ask you to credit me as the designer in case you decide to sell them.
