Movable Type Cushion – Anti Alias Alphabet
The Movable Type Cushion is an hommage to Johannes Gutenberg’s invention of the modern printing press in the 15th century. His main innovation was using movable type instead printing forms for whole words or pages (Read more). It will turn your couch into a typographic playground.
The pattern called Anti Alias Alphabet is made from enlarged screenshots of the typeface Helvetica, designed by Max Miedinger in 1957, which I translated into stranded knitting patterns. From the distance, the knitted letters will appear as on your screen. It was first published in my book, however only for the letter “A”. This is an extended pattern set which contains all 26 capital letters, the hashtag sign and a Typeknitting signature.
