These mittens were designed to complement the Tahoe Hooded Cowl pattern by Bina Alper of Nutty Patterns on Etsy. Three strands of worsted weight yarn are held together as one to make for a super bulky weight yarn and knit mostly in the round using double pointed needles (or method of your choice). There are two sizes- Mrs. and Mr. - with size Mr. being a bit larger. The blue mittens are size Mr. and fit my two older sons and husband. The pink mittens are size Mrs. and fit and my two younger sons and me.

-Size: There are two sizes provided for each version, Mrs. (medium) and Mr. (large). For size Mrs.: finished circumference at the cuff is 7 inches (17.78 cm), and it is approximately 11 inches (27.94 cm) tall from cast on to cast off. For size Mr.: finished circumference at the cuff is 8 inches (20.32 cm), and it is approximately 12 inches (30.48 cm) tall from cast on to cast off.
-Gauge: 10 sts and 16 rows in 4 inches (10.16 cm) after blocking. Mittens are blocked by simply hand washing and laying flat to dry. No need to stretch or shape.
-Stitch Pattern: These quick knit mitts are designed in a simple but interesting modified broken rib pattern with a traditional broken rib cuff. Since you are holding three strands of worsted yarn together, this is a great project to use up worsted scraps! You can play with the colors all you want. Try holding three contrasting colors all the way through, three different tones of the same shade, or switch out colors throughout the mitts- your imagination is the limit!
-Unless otherwise noted, instructions apply to both right and left mittens
- An optional buttonhole is available to insert in either the right hand or left hand mitten (or both) foe easy access to the touch screen of your smart device. I chose to put a buttonhole in the right mitten and none in the left.
