Mr Fluffy Tail the Squirrel Pullover is possibly one of the cutest child’s sweaters I have ever designed. Not only is it super cosy, it’s also a simple jumper to knit.

You might find you need to make more than one Squirrel jumper as your little on is going to want to wear this sweater all the time.

I know it looks at first glance as though this might be a complex project, the only bits of the Squirrel motif that are worked using the intarsia method are the four stripes of the sweater (just some straight lines, simple right?) And see that tail which is worked in a faux fur yarn (Moment’s by King Cole, but could be substituted for any faux fur yarn with a similar gauge). The tail worked in fluffy yarn hides any imperfections in your intarsia like magic!

The Head and Ears and knitted and sewn on complete the dashing, Squirrel.

Knit in DK weight yarn and sized to fit ages 2-11 years, you can find full sizing info and yarn requirements in the table, please see image section.

Needles:

• Straight 3.25mm; 4mm

  Circulars 3.25mm (optional for neck)

Also needed:

• Darning needle

  Stitch markers

  Stitch holder

  Oddments of Black DK or 3 small round buttons
