Meet Mr Tumnus from CS Lewis’ The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. I created him after my local yarn shop decided to depict the book for their Christmas themed window. I searched for a pattern but couldn’t find anything quite big enough.

Mr Tumnus measures 10 inches high and is my first paid pattern.

His legs, torso and head are created using the amigurumi method of continuous single crochet with his hair created separately with a bobble stitch.

By using a double knit yarn on a 3mm hook you have a nice tight fabric to stuff. I used Stylecraft Special DK, dark brown for legs, parchment for body, mocha for hair and lipstick for the scarf.
