Mrs Blackbird is intended as something simple to slipover baby girl bodysuits and tights for extra warmth and cuteness.
This pinafore-vest is aimed at intermediate knitters looking for a quick but well-finished knit. The hem has a folded over picot edge and i-cord edging is used to give a neat finish on the straps and front.

It requires a classic 8 ply / DK yarn with a gauge of 22 stitches and 30 rows to 10 cm.

The pattern is named after the mother blackbird that, along with her mate, both enchants and annoys me in my vegetable garden.

Newborn 41 cm (16 inches)
0-3 Months 45 cm (18 inches)
3-6 Months 48cm (19 inches)
6-12 Months 50cm (19.5 inches)

The pinafore-vest is designed with a high-thigh (vest) length but you can easily extend it by adding length as described in the pattern.
