Ms. Butterfly's Jacket
Fascinating construction defines this lovely cardigan. You begin with the diagonal garter borders-- join them together at the corners-- and then basically fill them in with knitting, working a knit/purl pattern on the back which will be embellished with knitted (appliqued) butterflies later. Options are provided for working the sleeves either flat, or in the round; armholes are a curious hybrid of peasant or modified drop, and a little bit of set-in action as well. Final edgings are worked in crochet (American terminology). It’s gorgeous and swingy. Original Furlana’s no longer around, but you could try getting gauge with Charmed and a strand of Possum Sock.
