mTSS - my Tunisian Soap Saver
Tunisian crochet is so much fun - I really enjoy the technique – it’s like a hybrid of crochet, knitting and weaving.
Don’t worry, no special hooks are needed - this fun soap or gift bag is an introduction to the technique and you can use a regular crochet hook to create it.
A photo tutorial is included as a separate file.
This soap or gift bag can be made with any cotton yarn and an appropriately sized hook. Tunisian Crochet is typically made with a hook one or two sizes larger than you would usually use for the yarn.
Techniques: my Tunisian Soap Saver is worked in a fun variation of Tunisian Simple Stitch which creates a lovely squishy fabric.
Terminology: US crochet terms are used throughout the pattern. The equivalent UK terms are referenced in Table 1.
I really hope you enjoy this little foray into Tunisian Crochet and look forward to seeing your finished bags.
