This pattern was inspired by a crochet pattern called Penguin Coaster, designed by Sara A. Cano.

While very similar in appearance to Ms. Cano’s pattern, Muggsy is designed for the knitting loom using an unusual construction method by working from the outer edge inward in one piece.

Designed for the 5/8” 24 peg round loom using one strand of chunky #5 yarn. However, it could be adapted to a smaller gauge loom, but would result in a smaller size.

The sample’s features are designed using yarn, but small felt pieces can be used for the beak & feet and toy googly eyes in lieu of the embroidered eyes.
