Mukluk Style Slipper Boots
When I was younger, I had a pair of slippers that I got in Canada, and I absolutely loved them- they were thick, warm, and super comfy. Years later, I wanted to recreate them, but I couldn’t find a pattern, so I made my own.
These may look like a big project, but they knit up super fast. I would highly recommend them as an introduction to colorwork because of the simplicity of the pattern, as well as the large gauge, which makes mistakes easy to notice and fix.
I thought the pattern looked kind of like a thistle or clover, so the shaping in the back of the leg works with the pattern to make leaves, which then become reminiscent of a cuban-style heel (an element which makes me feel sexy even in the dead of winter when I’m bundled up like a marshmallow). I would suggest sewing a leather sole to the bottom, and then you can wear these anywhere!
