This is a easy scarf pattern for beginners that won’t leave you bored. I used a lightweight yarn because the mesh pattern is great for Spring or Fall, but it can be made with any weight yarn and corresponding hook.

This scarf is worked from the bottom up. We will use three different stitches in a mesh design to create interest and variation all along the scarf. This is a good pattern for a mens or womens scarf. You can make it as wide and as long as you want.

To make this scarf, I used 3 skeins of Katia Baby Ultrasoft yarn. You can use any #3 weight yarn you choose. My scarf is 7” wide and 67” long. I would not recommend roving style yarns or fuzzy yarns for this pattern. It is difficult to see the stitch variations.
