The pattern uses a simple DC Mesh Stitch (dc, ch 1) repeat, as well as a 5.75 mm hook (although a 6mm hook will work too). The gauge isn’t overly important.

I used left over cotton yarn- I had about 7 oz (half of a 14 oz cone), and used approximately 2/3 of that to make two bags (1 large and 1 small).

The smaller bag measures 5 inches wide by 9 1/2 inches tall, and the larger bag is 7 1/2 inches wide by 9 1/2 inches tall.

Instructions are included for adding (optional)hanging loops, as well as simple directions for making a bag of any other size.

The bag’ s closure is a simple chain, but a ribbon or shoe lace could also be used.

I created the smaller bag to be used as a laundry bag for crochet cotton face scrubbers, so they don’t get lost in the washing machine. The larger bag I am using to store my daughter’s bath toys in.

The bags could be used for any number of purposes, such as those stated above, or a gift bag, storage/drying bag for camping dishes…it’s up to the maker, really.
