This absolutely adorable mushroom bookmark pattern gives a cottagecore aesthetic to your reading!

The mushroom is made like an amigurumi, and then a chain string and tassel are added to make it a bookmark.

This pattern includes the instructions for both the red and tan mushroom bookmarks.

There really is no gauge to this pattern, but the finished mushroom is about 3/4 inch tall and the string is about 10 inches long. The string size is entirely customizable, so you can make it as long or short as you want.

This pattern requires knowledge of magic loops, chaining, slip stitches, and single crochet stitches. It is worked in continuous rounds (with the exception of the first two rounds of the stems. It is beginner friendly, but working with crochet thread and small hooks can be difficult for beginners, so keep that in mind if you’re new to using crochet thread.

You’ll need a 2mm crochet hook and about 5 yards of red or tan size 10 crochet thread, 8 yards of off white size 10 crochet thread, and 1 yard of black size 10 crochet thread. You’ll also need a needle (I use a sharp embroidery needle, not a yarn needle) to weave the ends in and add the black lines to the stem, poly-fil or other stuffing to fill the mushroom, and scissors.
