This is a pattern for an adult sized hat with a two-color linen stitch brim and Andean-inspired motifs. The motifs are derived from Peruvian and Andean knitting, specifically as seen in Chullo hats. The hat is knit up in sport weight yarn and you will be carrying no more than two colors per row.

This hat requires knowledge of basic fair isle/stranded knitting techniques, two-color linen stitch in the round, and a basic decrease stitch (K2TOG). This is a charted pattern that also includes written instructions for the decreases at the top. It contains instructions for adult sizes small (20.5”), medium, (22”) and large (23.5”). This pattern has some specific instructions for left-handed knitters.

Note about the contrast color: Since each skein of Crazy yarn has a unique color, you will need to substitute this yarn for a close alternative in order to achieve a similar ‘look’. Some suggestions are a similar colorway in Scheepjes Our Tribe, Schoppel Wolle Edition 3, or Schachenmayr Catania Flamme. Alternatively, pick up a skein of Crazy yarn and see where it takes you!
