Müts, pronounced “mutes,” is the Estonian word for hat, which is an appropriate name for a hat using Roositud Inlay. Roositud is the Estonian technique of embroidering while knitting instead of waiting to embellish after the piece is knit. In Roositud, groups of stitches are wrapped with contrasting yarn following a charted pattern. The chart was designed based on examples of Estonian knitting.
