Mutt and Jeff Cozies
For both projects, you’ll need size US 8 dpns for working in the round.
For the Jeff (coffee) cozy, you’ll need approximately 20 yards of yarn, either one color or a few colors.
For the Mutt (beer) cozy, you’ll need approximately 30 yards of yarn, either one color or a few colors.
Skills needed for this pattern:
- Knitting in the round
- K1, P1 ribbing
- Stockinette stitch
The pattern will teach you how to make a jogless stripe to prevent a noticeable dip in the stripe pattern as you knit in the round.
The pattern can easily be adjusted for different gauges of yarn. Make a swatch with whatever yarn you have to figure out the stitches per inch. Multiply the stitches per inch by the circumference of the project you are working on, and be sure that it can be evenly divided by 2.
If you want your beer cozy to fit a little more snugly, reduce the number of cast on stitches by 4. I used a beer can for my cozy, but bottles are often slimmer.
