About the pattern

This pattern was born many years ago when I was mainly selling hand-knit items. The plain design was intended to go with absolutely any of my hat / shawls to work as a set without distracting from the main accessory. Many knitters liked their simplicity and had asked for them to be written up as a pattern even before I started publishing patterns as a designer.
They are knit from the cuff up with a rounded tip and an Indian thumb gusset.
This pattern includes 2 types of instructions:

  • Written pattern for 3 standard female sizes if you meet pattern gauge;
  • Recipe to calculate for a different gauge / size.

Sizes
This pattern includes 3 sizes S (M, L) for hand circumference of 16-17 (18-19, 20-21) cm or 6.5 (7, 7.5)” for the default gauge or recipe for any other.
Length can be easily adjusted.

Yarn
The pattern is calculated for Drops ‘Air’ (can be substituted for any othersport to DK-weight (~250-300 m / 275-325 yds per 100g/3.5oz) yarn to get gauge, OR replaced with any other yarn weight to follow the recipe.
I suggest using yarns with high animal fiber content.

If using suggested yarn, you will need ~200-300 m / 220-330 yds (exact yardage will depend on the size and cuff length you knit).

Needles: I used 3.5mm / US 4 needles to get the gauge of 24 sts by 32 rounds in original yarn (used as default in the pattern)

Required skills

  • Knitting in the round
  • Bulgarian cast on (video tutorial provided)
  • Basic increases with twisted yarnovers (video tutorial provided)
