Bruges (brooj) Lace is a technique of crocheting a long tape of short rows and connecting them with chain loops to the subsequent tapes. Traditional bruges lace has a signature rounded corner or “u-turn”at the end of each row. I’m calling this “My Bruges” because my version is still bruges lace, but the ends are 180 degree turns instead of u-turns. These are simple double crochet and chains, but connected together, they make a pretty lace design.

I used 2 cakes of Yarn Bee Sugarwheel. Be aware: one of the colorways I had included 4 colors. I was able to get 3 panels of each color, making the shawl 58” wide. The other colorway had 5 colors. I was only able to use each color twice, making that shawl 50” wide. Both shawls were 17” tall. If you want the wider shawl, make sure your Sugarwheel cakes have 4 repeating colors. You can, of course, use any yarn you want to use. This would be a great stashbuster! Just make sure all your colors are the same weight of yarn.
