Are you ready to go on an adventure? Every time I purchase a yarn advent calendar, I feel like I’m embarking on a mystery adventure .. but don’t exactly know if I’ll like where I end up. I could end up with a multicolored shawl that is either a hit or a miss, or have a planned knit, but the colors needed to be more similar/less similar to each other as I knit.

For years, I’ve been trying to come up with the perfect sweater that regardless of how your advent line up is, your garment will still turn out amazing for all sizes!! No matter if you have a fade to work with, or a random assortment of minis, as long as your main color has contrast, the order of minis wont matter!

I also worked long and hard to make sure that regardless of size or shape, you will never need more than one 20(G) mini for each color changing stripe. So go dive into that stash, grab a previous advent calendar, or go on the hunt for some specific mini colors!! There are 25 different mini colors used in this sweater, but yardage will be posed for each and every mini used. Combine the yardages to use less colors or more!!

This garment is knit top down in the round, raglan style. Not every size will have a true MC line down the raglan “seams” but the increases will indicate a line. The garment is knit with positive ease, but can be worn with up to 1” of negative ease as well.

This is knit with fingering weight yarn from Dragon Hoard Yarn, primarily using their Hobbit Mini Set, & Sea Of Monsters Mini Set, along with random stash minis.

Gauge can be tricky to find with the 1x1 colorwork, so make sure to swatch on larger needles in the round first.

Any questions can be sent to Trysten at dragonhoardyarn@gmail.com. Ravelry is not the best way to contact for pattern support. This is not a “first sweater” kind of pattern, as you really have to keep track of your size along with the colorwork very closely. Details :
(Smaller needle) Body: US size 2 / 2.75 mm circular needles between 16 and 40” / 40 and 100 cm to be worked in the round. Sleeves: 9” / 23 cm circular needle, DPNs or preferred method of small circumference knitting.

(Since the collar can be worked with a 16”/40 cm circular, as the knitting grows, you may want to transition to 24”/60 cm, then 32”/80 cm, then 40”/100 cm circular needle to be worked in the round.)
