Ever found a yarn you love so much you want to wear it just as yarn? Or maybe you’ve already made a project but you still want to use that last little bit. Adorned with beads for extra sparkle, this quick project make a great last minute gift. Dropped stitch sections create long runs of yarn connected by small seed stitch areas. The result is a long multi-stranded necklace. The knitting is simple but it is important to work the cast on exactly as written. You will need to know how to do both the cable cast on and the backward loop cast on.

The finished necklace is about 45 inches long. If you want a longer necklace you can add extra repeats at the cast on. Each repeat will add about 4 1/2 inches and require an additional 10 beads and 3 yards of yarn.

The pattern is written for fingering weight yarn knit on size 1 needles. But gauge doesn’t really matter so feel free to try other weight yarns. Lighter yarn will produce a slightly shorter necklace and heavier yarn will produce a slightly longer necklace. Pick a needle size for your yarn that will give a tight, dense fabric.
