MATERIALS
Yarn:
Sport weight yarn in wool, cotton, acrylic, and/or nylon blend, worsted or woolen spun
Sample and swatches use De Rerum Natura Ulysse, 100% merino wool, semi-woolen spun, 202 yds/ 50g in colorways Poivre Blanc, Sauge, and Cyprès
Yardage:
MC: 137 yds/ 125m
CC: 15 yds/ 14m

Needle size:
US 4/3.5mm, or one size smaller than gauge needle, for brim, 16”/ 40cm circular
US 5/3.75mm, or size needed to obtain gauge, 16”/ 40cm circular for body and DPNs for crown decreases
Depending on the yarn used, your needle size may vary to obtain gauge.
Tools: Stitch markers, tapestry needle.
Gauge:
24 sts x 32 rows = 4” x 4” (10cm x 10cm) in stockinette, flat, after washing and blocking
