My Kind of Christmas Shawl
This shawl pattern is designed for the Elderflower Stitches 2020 yarn advent calendar, to accentuate and work with the colourways, but of course, any minis you have will be lovely too!
The lacework is inspired by plump, bauble laden Christmas trees, rooftops with puffing chimneys and dripping icicles and flurries of snowflakes swirling to the ground.
Photos are not shown yet as I do not want to spoil the surprise of advent yarns!!
Yarn
24 x 20g sock weight minis (you will have a bit of each colour left over)
If you wish, you could hold a strand of mohair or suri silk together with your sock yarn. You will need no more than 2000m
Needles
For shawls made with sock yarn only, use 4mm needles
For shawls made with sock yarn held together with mohair or suri silk, use 4.5mm needles
For either side needle, I recommend circular needles, but the shawl is knit flat so you could use straight needles if you wish.
Notions
As there is lots of lovely lace work in the pattern, I would recommend having plenty of stitch markers to hand. I place a stitch marker between each pattern repeat so that if I lose or gain a stitch I can easily work out where from.
