My Moonstone
This is a fundraising pattern for my late brother, Mino (1971-2004)
Test knit was held at my Ravelry group thread.
In Japan, children color the moon in yellow while they use white in the US. It took me a while to realize the difference. Also, I learned that my June birthstone can be pearl or moonstone, and moonstone is creamy white. I love the color of moonstone. Since one of my Ravelry group members knitted a shawl in white, the creamy moonstone image has stayed with me, and it inspired the design of this shawl.
“My Moonstone” is my very first lacy triangle shawl. After knitting many beautiful shawls, I wanted to design one myself. As I designed, several different layouts came to my mind, and I decided to offer 4 different versions in 2 sizes.
Mabel & Ivy, Supersoft is a very firmly spun yarn, yet after washing and blocking, it transforms to a soft and cozy texture while holding the lace pattern very well. Also, it has many colors to choose from.
The pattern includes a table with row by row stitch count, stitch pattern, and color change, as well as pictures of test knitters’ projects with Supersoft, listing the colorways used. Lace Charts are provided, as well as written instruction.

My late brother, MInoru HOkari (“Mino” 1971-2004) died of cancer at the age of 32. The scholarship fund supports young scholars who study Indigenous Australians through fieldwork. We are trying to fully fund it to achieve its perpetuity. Please help.
Please visit Being Connected with HOKARI MINORU to meet Mino.
