My Own Dambana is a variation on a shawl/cowl/bandana. I like knitting shawls, but I don’t wear them well. They are always shifting and look sloppy on me so I adapted the cowl/bandana idea but added a shawl looking front with no ends to keep track of.

This is really more of a recipe than a pattern and is great for any weight yarn from Sock/Fingering Weight up to and including Worsted/Aran weight. I’m not sure if it will work for Bulky yarn, but if you give it a try and like it, leave me a comment and I’ll add it in!

Some of the fun of the Dambana is that there is NO ROW COUNTING unless YOU choose, and the weaving in of ends is easy.

This is a great pattern to make From Leftover Yarn (FLY), but also works with the odd skein in your stash or the clearance bin of your LYS. Make the Dambana as small or as large as you would like.

I will add approximate yardage as I work on different versions of the Dambana.
