The name of this crocheted shawl comes from Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander book, Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, the book upon which most of Season 7 Part 2 is based. The cover illustration of the book is a wax seal, leading to the unique edging design on this shawl. I chose the yarn color to evoke an image of Clare’s medical apron splattered with her own blood. This shawl is created in sport weight yarn (as pictured here, Sassy Black’s Peruvian Highland Wool Sport (100% wool) in color Strawberry Cheesecake and color Danger for the edging).
