This is a Tutorial Crochet Pattern to make the unique baby book about shapes as shown.

Inspired by my desire to see children reading from an early age, this book has been designed to help stimulate conversation with it’s bright pictures. It is never too early to introduce a baby to books and this one is ideal to enjoy together, washable, baby safe and fun.

This is a tutorial with full colour charts to make the three crochet shape picture pages and instructions with lots of photographs on how to work them, using the intarsia technique. In addition you will learn how to make a square, circle and heart shape. Finally you will learn how to construct it all together into a finished book.

This project assumes you have a basic knowledge of crochet. If you have never done colourwork before don’t be put off, this is a great project to learn.

For this book I gave myself an Eco design brief, I wanted a project that could be worked quick with little yarn but packed with a variety of techniques. You can make this book using just 2 balls of contrasting yarn or make it up in as many as 7 different colours.

I have included some bonus material, showing you how you can use the shapes to make cup coasters and heart decorations.
