My Simple Scarf
My Simple Scarf is a simple and easy scarf, knit in a broken garter stitch pattern. It is easy to customize and you can knit it in a lot of different yarn qualities.
Introduction to the pattern
You’ll begin by casting on with provisional cast on. The scarf is knit flat until you reach the desired length. Then the first spike is knit and you’ll knit the other spike from the open stitches from the provisional cast on.
Suggested yarn
50 g Merino 120 from Lang Yarns (50 g = 120 m 131 yards) or Pura Lana from Gepard Garn (50 m = 115 m 125 yards) or 50 g Lama Tweed from CaMaRose (50 g = 100 m 109 yards).
Yarn alternatives
In the pattern you will find different suggestions for other yarn combinations and how to change the needle size according to the yarn quality.
Measurements
Length: app. 100 cm 109 yards
Width: app. 10 cm 4 inches
It is easy to knit longer, if wanted. If so, I would recommend buying another skein.
Gauge and needle size
22 stitches / 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 inches in garter stitch on 4,5 mm US 7 needles after wash and blocking.
