When a lovely friend gifts you a couple of skeins of mohair yarn, you make…socks of course.

Sock yarn, mohair yarn, held together, represents a wonderful day of knitting to me. After I figured out a new gauge for the two yarns held together (please see “My Sock Drawer 4”), I wanted to push the cabling even further. How many cables could I group together without making the sock really bulky? Well, I haven’t hit my limit yet :)

…and yes, these are the perfect socks for a cold winter day.

The cables in this design are performed on the even rows of an 8 row pattern. On any given row, you have at most 2 cables to perform. When we get to the leg, we repeat the design so it goes all the way around the leg.

Just like the other “My Sock Drawer” patterns, this is a one off design and written for two sizes. After I have tested out all the components, I start to incorporate them into my larger multi-size patterns. If you have purchased one of my multiple sized sock patterns, these are a Sock Width Size 4 (5).

Sock Width Size: 4 (5)
Foot sizes: US/Canadian Women’s 8 ½ to 9 ½, EUR 41-42, UK 7-8
Foot circumference: 8 ½ to 9 ½ inches (21 to 24 cm)
Leg length from base of heel: 5 ½ inches (14.5 cm)
The yardage listed is for each yarn individually.

The sock is constructed from the toe up with a short row heel.

Both charted and written instructions are provided for this design.

Happy knitting everyone.
