my teensy scarf
Fully reversible. No knitting in the round. A one skein wonder. Seeking to be the most versatile piece in your knitted wardrobe.
I set out to proportion this tiny scarf very precisely. Narrow and long enough to be a headband or hair wrap, wide enough to keep your neck warm when looped around it twice, teensy enough to tie and quietly do its job without getting in the way. A perfect scarf for early fall, or days in and out of heated buildings, but still light enough to be worn inside to mitigate the chill.
Knit your own teensy scarf in a soft, luxury yarn (one of those special single skeins you’ve been saving because its too precious) and be prepared to make multiples! It’s the perfect size for a dose of preppy colour to peek out of your winter coat, but then you’ll have to follow it up immediately by making one in a neutral tone because you’ll want one for every winter outfit.
As written, this pattern uses most of a skein of fingering weight yarn, though instructions suggest a stitch count which would use up your entire skein of yarn, with the warning that doing so might make it too wide to use as a headband.
