MATERIALS
US9 (5.5mm) 16” circular needle and DPN’s
US10 (6.0mm) 16” circular needle-if your tension for color work normally runs tight, I suggest moving up to a US10.5 (6.5mm) 16” circular for the body however this will change yardage slightly.
Bulky (weight 5) yarn in 4 colors-
CA: 50g or approximately 52 yards
CB: 32g or approximately 34 yards
CC: 20g or approximately 20 yards
CD: 1g or approximately 7 yards
Sample used Willow Yarns Burrow (bulky) in Rusted as CA, Chai as CC, Chalk as CD and Black Sheep as CB

GAUGE
4”x4” - 14 sts x 18 rows in stockinette on US9 (5.5mm)
The overall measurements of the piece: 8 1/2”- 9” wide and 9” tall. The crown decrease adds about 2” on to the height of the hat.
DIFFICULTY
This pattern is best suited for Advanced Knitter. Knowledge of color work and carrying up to 2 colors at a time is needed for this pattern.
