Summer’s finally here!
And I am SO happy to change my wintercoat for a nice shawl:)
My very blue shawl is knit in my favourite-combo for summer, 2 different shades of blue.
The shawl would be equally nice worked in one colour only, or in several. There are so many possibilities.
And the pattern explains how you can make the shawl with more (or less) lace.

Size
The shawl is one-size.
Wingspan 140 cm/55”. Height at centre spine: 70 cm/27.5”.
You might work it larger/smaller by adding/subtracting pattern-repeats on each side of the centre-st.

Construction
This lace triangle is worked from the outside in. The shawl is worked from the bottom up and shaped with decreases until only a few stitches remain at the top. To finish, these remaining stitches are grafted together.

Materials
Yarn: I recommend that you use a fingering weight yarn with great stitch-definition to work your shawl. I used 2 different qualities that proved to work great together: Yarn A: 1 skein (402 m/440 yards) of The Uncommon Threads “Uncommon Everyday”, in “Stonewashed”. This is the dark blue yarn, and I used it all! Yarn B: 1 skein (366 m/400 yards) of Martins Labs “Merino Singles” in “Morning Star”.
This is the variegated yarn in blues, cream and a hint of pink. I had approximately 30 yards/25 m remaining. Please note: yardage might vary from yarn to yarn and from knitter to knitter.
Needles: a circular needle size 3 mm/US2.5 (or size to obtain gauge)

Gauge
26 sts and 36-38 rows = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”

The pattern
The shawl is worked in 5 sections, all explained.
The lace is charted.
Stitch-counts are given after each section.
There is a schematic.
